Today I will be discussing the features of Discussion Boards, also known as Forums in the Fantastico tool of your cPanel hosting account. I am sure if you have been browsing the internet for a while you must of at least landed up on a forum or you may even be part of one or many? Forums are excellent tools and can actually be seen as one of the many advantages of the internet. Forums enable people to connect, whether they connect on a certain related topic or simply just to share jokes.
Creating or starting a forum can be an amazing opportunity and for this reason it is wonderful to have the simple and easy option of using Fantastico which includes two options of forum software highlighted below. Many people use forums on a daily basis for a range of topics, from receiving relationship advice to sharing and entering into discussions about politics. On to the second part of the Fantastico cPanel Hosting blogging series where we will be discussing the various Content Management Systems (CMSs) that are included in all of our Website Hosting Packages at Stallion Hosting. Today I will be blogging on a subject that many South African businesses overlook and that is using free email accounts such as @gmail.com, @yahoo.com, @vodamail.co.za, telkomsa.net, @mweb.co.za etc etc
Most of us including myself would have got their first email address from one of the many free email address providers that are out there on the internet, I myself got my first email address from Gmail and I still have it and use it daily, but there is a difference and that is that I use my Stallion Hosting email address on emails, business cards, filling in forms, stationery, advertising etc. (more…)
September 16th, 2010 Daniel Hall Every now and then I am asked questions about FTP (File Transfer Protocol), such as can I find a free FTP client, how does FTP work, I want to upload my website with FTP software etc etc. So today I have added a very useful video below which takes anyone new to the concept of FTP Software and explains how FileZilla works. Basically FileZilla is a free FTP software client that is available here: http://filezilla-project.org/
I highly recommend FileZilla as I use it daily and I have found that is works very well for most file transfer needs.
